By joining this trip, you’re directly supporting the livelihood of a hardworking Balinese family. The mother, a skilled builder, and the father, a dedicated farmer, work tirelessly to support their home on a modest monthly income of 2 million IDR—below the average personal minimum wage. With 20% of your trip fee going to them, you’ll be helping this inspiring family thrive, supporting their craft and local community. Your participation creates a lasting impact, allowing you to give back meaningfully as you connect with the island’s beauty and its incredible people.
What Your Impactful Day Looks Like
Participants are picked up at the designated meeting points, where they receive a brief introduction to the day’s activities and Balinese culture. Participants from Canggu will depart at 8:00 AM, and participants from Ubud will depart at 9:30 AM. Everyone is expected to already be at the meeting point at least 30 minutes before the scheduled time to depart.
Welcome at a local family house with greetings and introduction to the family.
Participants will learn the art of creating Canang Sari (daily offerings) using flowers, leaves, and incense. The local host family will help explain the meaning behind each element, emphasizing gratitude and spirituality in Balinese culture.
Enjoy a delicious home-cooked Balinese lunch. The vegan meal will feature traditional dishes and seasonal ingredients, providing a chance to taste authentic Balinese flavors and connect with the family over a shared meal.
Participants prepare for the temple visit and get a short brief on the significance of the Melukat ceremony.
Embark on a scenic drive through Bali’s picturesque landscapes en route to Tirta Empul, a sacred water temple known for its spiritual cleansing pools. Along the way, participants will hear stories about the temple’s history and local legends.
Upon arrival, the group will enter the temple grounds. The guide will assist with entry formalities and provide an orientation to help participants connect with the significance of the site.
Participants will partake in the Melukat purification ceremony, led by local priests. Moving through several pools, guests will immerse themselves in sacred water to cleanse their minds, bodies, and spirits. This ritual offers a profound opportunity to release negative energy and set intentions for personal growth.
After the ceremony, the group will gather for a closing circle within the temple grounds. Participants can share reflections, experiences, or intentions, fostering deeper connections among the group.
The group will leave Tirta Empul and enjoy a relaxing ride back. Participants will be dropped off at 4.30 PM in Ubud and 6.30 PM in Canggu, concluding the day with heartfelt goodbyes and cherished memories.
